I received the following information from Kevin Martorana of the Lancaster County Radio Control Club (LCRRC) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
LCRRC held its second annual Fallen Friends Fun Fly on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Jim Shertzer, the vice president of the club, designed a fun day for the club members.
Door prizes, combined with great food, made for a relaxing day at the field. Flying adventures included dropping a golf ball on a target, carrier landing skill, and the limbo fly. The lowest limbo was 2 feet off the ground, and one member flew under it without hitting the ground.
This is a great event to remember our missing club members and to enjoy the hobby and the camaraderie of flying airplanes.
In September, we held our annual Charity Fly, where we get pilots from all over the area, plus club members, to donate money to fly for the local public. It’s always been an amazing event and had a great turnout. This year, we collected more money than ever before, and then matched that amount, for the final donation to Anchor Lancaster (anchorlancaster.org).

Thank you, LCRCC, for your outstanding efforts in promoting model aviation and fostering a positive community spirit.
As I write this, District III is experiencing heavy winter snowstorms, yet several clubs are still flying. The photos below show District III members participating in outdoor and indoor flying despite the weather.
Until next month, stay safe and fly safe!
