Recently, the Jersey Coast Sport Fliers (JCSF) held two very important events. On June 28, 2025, the club held its 50th Anniversary Celebration, and, in short order, the club then turned around and held its community JCSF Open House on August 2, 2025. Images from both events are from the JCSF Members Facebook group and the lens of Stan Berger.
The JCSF fly-in was held at the Dorbrook Recreation Area in Colts Neck, New Jersey. The site has been the club’s home base since 1987. The JCSF club is no stranger to being active and involved in the community!
The club notes that it likes to "facilitate communication between club members and friends about upcoming events, making flying plans with your buddies, and posting pics and videos."
Visitors to the annual Northeast Electric Aircraft Technology (NEAT) Fair in Downsville, New York, have certainly witnessed the JCSF’s participation and its large tent to the extreme right of the flightline. JCSF keeps the fun rolling throughout NEAT with numerous club members flying in the event’s various activities and competitions. JCSF is also well known for its annual swap meet event at the St. Mary’s School in Middletown, New Jersey.
A visit to the JCSF website at www.jcsportfliers.org provides a better glimpse of the club’s activities and even other events in the region.
If the JCSF provides a lesson for other clubs to pattern, it’s to be active in the community and illuminate what your club does. Doing this is among the critical keys of building your club!
Congratulations to the JCSF for being a great example of an involved AMA club and on celebrating its 50th anniversary!
Remember, it’s not about what you fly, it’s about the friends you make.
