Remembering Tom Siwek October 3, 1972-April 25, 2025

On behalf of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Tom Siwek, one of our esteemed District I associate vice presidents (AVPs). We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

As a passionate member and vice president of the Central Massachusetts Radio Control Modelers (CMRCM), his commitment to aeromodeling and leadership drove him to achieve AMA Leader Member status and accept the position of a New England AVP in January 2022. He quickly became a valued and active member, participating in AMA air shows and STEM education outreach to inspire young people.

Tom’s dedication to safety and education and his warm personality left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of working alongside him and meeting him at events. His contributions to AMA and the aeromodeling community in New England were truly significant.

We will be honored to memorialize Tom’s commitment and legacy at AMA Headquarters in Muncie, Indiana, with a brick bearing his name in the AMA Walk of Fame. Fly home, Tom, for your final flight. Your dedication, your spirit, and your friendship will be deeply missed.

Senior AVP Daren Hudson represented District I at Tom Siwek’s Memorial Fly-In, hosted by his cherished CMRCM club. Daren met with Tom’s wife, Jennifer, and his daughters Amanda and Natalie, and shared heartfelt memories. He thanked the club for their hospitality and extended the district’s deepest condolences and prayers during their grief.
