In July, the Rapid City Propbusters held the inaugural Vintage Radio Control Society (VRCS) event in District IX. The event drew 20 pilots from a three-state area. More than 20 prizes were in the pilots’ raffle, including a vintage RTF Pronto electric-powered model built from plans. Warren Malone

September 2025 - District IX

There were 20 pilots representing eight different clubs a the 26th annual Heart of America Float Fly at Lake Miola in Paolafrom Kansas. Missouri, Oklahoma, and Colorado. The weather was perfect, with temperatures in the 70s and wind from 5 to 10 mph. The water and sky were filled with our airplanes from dawn to dusk.

August 2025 - District IX

South Dakota Associate Vice President Arend Schuurman covered the Brookings Aeromates’ annual First of Summer Fun Fly held on the last weekend in May in Brookings, South Dakota. There was nice weather and a good turnout for this year’s event. We had 25 registered fliers from across the area
